Strength With Heart helps men be happier, healthier, & better able to achieve success.

How Strength
With Heart Started

A group of like-minded psychologists, who have coached, consulted, and counseled men, and have written about masculinity for many years, came together to address the disconnect between how we traditionally think about peak
male performance and the reality of an ever-changing, modern world where newer tools are needed to succeed. By looking at
the latest research and extracting best practices from our work with men, we have developed the Strength With Heart model
to help men be healthier and better able to reach their goals.

Our competitive male socialization has emphasized many of the strengths traditionally needed for success—passionate effort, unrelenting drive, high levels of technical knowledge—but, that to continue this success, another crucial dimension is needed, which is heart. This includes heightened self-awareness, nuanced relational communication skills, and approachability.  We believe that many men have been trained into a strength at all costs model, but aren’t as encouraged to develop in the heart realm.

Why Strength With Heart Matters

In the current climate of a flattening hierarchy, equity, and interconnected technology, success is more likely to come from creative collaboration from a wide range of constituencies. We have found that being aware of the consequences of our actions, getting feedback to improve current operations, communicating clearly, and removing “ego” from the leadership process can have a dynamic impact on satisfaction, participation, and buy-in.  By having empathy and compassion for every person, we can enhance productivity, encourage independence, reduce problematic conditions, and contribute to our greater goals.

Success in the emerging world calls for an expanded tool kit.  Our Strength With Heart approach to leadership gives you an added edge.  We offer practical ways to work smarter, while increasing self-awareness, empathy, and interpersonal communication.  In a time where many work situations are tinged with charges of sexism and racism, we help you create productive interpersonal environments that are fair, equitable, and empowering.
